I Am

I am...writing a poem with an age-old format
You are...going to read it (that's an order)

...

I am Zachary Boddy
Not unique in any way, but completely different overall
I am a human being
Although the “human” mantra isn’t particularly my style

I am
A wealth of information, or rather the incessant search for it
A constant source of inquisitive questions about…everything
The owner of extensive knowledge relating to technology

I am
Perpetual hunger for the next scrap of literature to absorb
Eternally observing for the next hint of spontaneous inspiration
Always feeling the need to listen to hundreds of beautiful music tracks

I am
Slowly inching my way towards the future that I desire
Nearly the person that is almost the person I might want to be one day (maybe)
Coming to the realization that I am running out of ideas—but not quite

I am
Always filled with ideas, just ignore the line claiming otherwise
Not just trying to fill in the blanks—okay maybe I am (but it’s amusing)
Spouting never-ending sarcasm and jokes, whether or not it’s wanted

I am
Rustic reds, oranges, and browns spread over Arizona mountains
Lush greens and dark hues in a stretching Missouri landscape
The family that has always supported me, despite my frustrating sarcasm

I am myself, and only myself
And this poem is coming to an end, much to your dismay (or joy)
I am…breaking my previous format for dramatic purpose
I am Zachary Boddy (dramatic ending…ruined)
